Jewelry precious semi stone.

  1. You want to have a little science fun? Try electrolysis for cleaning your jewelery /jewelry precious semi stone and anything else metal you want spiffed up.Get ahold of a transformer that puts out between 6 and 12 volts DC. If you work in an office, there are often many kicking around.Clip off the plug on the end, separate the wires, and fasten an alligator clip to each wire. In a plastic bowl, put warm water, and a tablespoon of salt. Sjewelry precious semi stonetir. Put a steel washer in one 'gator clip, and your jewelery/jewelry precious semi stone in the other. Immerse in the salt water. Plug in the transformer.Either the washer or yjewelry precious semi stoneour jewelery will start fizzing like an alka-seltzer. Actually, both will fizz, but one much more than the other. If your jewelery/jewelry precious semi stone is fizzing more, keep going, checking after 20 seconds. You may need one minute.Important: If the washer is the one fizzing more, switch sides in terms of polarity. If you want practice, try this on an old penny first. I've nicely cleaned up 2000 year old coins with this method, though it does work so well that it greatly reduces their value.

  2. Toothpaste and an old toothbrush. Just plain old toothpaste..not the special whitening kind or the kind that has any other additive. That's how I clean all my jewelry/jewelry precious semi stone, it really does work and it's not harmful to the stones. Just put some toothpaste on the toothbrush and wet it and then brush your jewelry/jewelry precious semi stone like you would to brush your teeth...soft bristled toothbrush. This will work. Then rinse clean and dry with a soft cloth.

  3. put some tin fold on the bottom of your sink, add salt and vinegar, let your jewelery/jewelry precious semi stone sit for a few minutes, check it and replace if needed, it causes a safe chemical response, rinse with water and dry.

  4. You can use regular silver cleaners on the silver obviously, but when it comes to stones, just use lukewarm soap water, nothing more radical. I've seen and heard people using anything from vinegar to cigarette ash, but I stick to plain soap diluted in warm water. I apply it with a soft cloth, and dry it afterwards. You can use an old toothbrush or any similar soft bristled brush if the stone is in a bad condition. Onyx is not so easily damaged, but the only thing you shouldn't be doing to an amber is put it to hot water as it's organic and may be totally ruined. Polish them well after cleaning with a dry cloth.
